Resolutions of the

Democratic Women of Mecklenburg County

DWMC Resolutions

What is a resolution?

A resolution is a written statement formulated to focus elected officials in the County, State, and National Democratic Party on a current issue of critical importance to DWMC members.

What is the process?

The DWMC Issues & Resolutions team formulates a resolution and presents it to DWMC membership for adoption. Once approved, it is presented at the Mecklenburg County Democratic Party Convention where it is subject to a vote. If approved, the resolution moves to the state party level where it is used to formulate the party platform.

Stand with the DWMC against racism!

Statement by the Executive Board of the

Democratic Women of Mecklenburg County

The Executive Board of the Democratic Women of Mecklenburg County supports Charlotte City Council's approval of the resolution offered by Council Member Justin Harlow.  The resolution emphatically states the City’s opposition to the discriminatory and divisive remarks made by President Trump, some of which are listed below.

We specifically call on North Carolina Republicans to publicly state their opposition to racism, xenophobia, and fear-mongering, and to ensure that this hateful and divisive rhetoric will not be tolerated in Charlotte at the Republican National Convention in 2020.
